We will use Hotel B Cozumel. The location of the Hotel B Cozumel in the north hotel zone is extraordinary; a quiet and exclusive area just 5 minutes from downtown Cozumel, the airport and the golf course. The property stands out for its natural bay, ideal for swimming and snorkeling right in the heart of the hotel, between the jacuzzi and the pier. The hotel offers multiple water activities in addition to diving and snorkeling such as paddle tennis, kite surfing, sailing and kayaking.
All rooms are "double accomodation", meaning each room accommodates two twin beds for two guest. You will be paired with a travel mate. You may also opt to room with a friend/partner. To do so, you will need to select quantity of two at check-out.
The best way to get around in Cozumel is on foot, as most of the attractions are centrally located. Moped rentals are popular, but they can be dangerous for novice drivers. Although you can easily rent cars in San Miguel, through many hotels, and at the Cozumel International Airport (CZM), we recommend taking one of the many taxis. They're cheap and government regulated, so you won't have to barter for the fare.
August is the warmest month, with an average high-temperature of 33°C (91.4°F) and an average low-temperature of 23.5°C (74.3°F).
In Mexico, the standard voltage is 127V, and the standard frequency is 60Hz. If you are travelling from the US, all US appliances and devices should work without a power converter. Power plugs and sockets are of type A and B. Plug type A is the plug which has two flat parallel pins - used in North and Central America.
Mexico's official currency is the Mexican peso. Since the Mexican peso to U.S. dollar exchange rate fluctuates, American dollars are, however, widely accepted in Cozumel, though you may get change back in pesos. You also might get a better deal on goods and services if you pay in pesos.
In Mexico, currency exchange is available at banks and airports.
Exchange rate: 1 Mexico Peso = 0.050 USD
Credit and charge cards such as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are widely accepted.
VAT is payable at the general rate of 16% on sales of goods and services
We recommend travel insurance for all our trips because not only is this a non-refundable trip but also sometimes, unexpected things occur. Trip delays, interruptions, or even cancellations can cause headaches and expenses, but travel insurance can help make sure you are protected for adjustments you need to make to overcome these situations. Some plans contain cancellation benefits and if you have a covered reason you can be reimbursed for pre-paid non-refundable expenses, like a medical emergency or loss of employment before your trip even begins. Therefore, you will be offered to purchase travel insurance after booking and can either select to purchase or reject it in writing.
